Nugget Fuzz

I swear this was not built to stir up controversy.

Anyway, the PPCB Nugget Fuzz is based off the Cornish NG-2. What I got out of the recent Aion FX article where Kevin traced the NG-3, is that Mr. Cornish claims the NG-3 is the same except the bias pot moved to the outside. This is what I did to my Nugget fuzz so this could be considered comparable to the NG-3 (?). Not according to Mr. Aion FX but who knows.

Anyway, this thing is nasty. And in a good way. It's like a tweaked out fuzz face but not. It's pretty cool. Would absolutely not work in a band mix but would make for a cool layer of fuzz in a recording.

My last 2 Cornish builds I went with asthetics similar to the production pedals. This time I wanted to do something different. When I heard Nugget I though of cannabis. Hence the flower image. Wink wink. I hate how the board is crooked in the enclosure. But it is what it is.

I like how it came out. I was trying more of the spray paint splatter but as you can see it got away from me and got quite a bit of spray on it. I still like it. Circuit is okay. Not quite for me. But otherwise, a good build.

I spray at a big popsicle stick and bunch the paint off of it to create a great splatter effect. Give that a shot sometime
