Overcast Fuzz - Spirit in the Sky Fuzz

Correct me if I'm wrong @johnk_10, but I believe he drills out unused pads and uses them for stress relief.

The wire is just passing through the board, not actually making an electrical connection to the GND pad.
that's correct.
i also use the 4k7 led resistor holes to use as a jumper to have a shorter path for the +9V lead to the relay board.
 
my original Spirit in the Sky Pedal arrived. Afer testing it, i relized that the chassis ins't grounded so the pedal has a TON of hum when engaged, especially with a single coil tele. The input and output jacks are the isoslated type. The hum is so loud it's unusable. i ended up grounding the chassis and it's ALOT better know. BTW, the entire PCB is very heavily gooped.
here's a pic of it next to my clone and they sound identical:

I have to say, the construction of these really left me disappointed compared to all of the photos of other pedals on the Circle Electric website.

The stripboard in mine was held in place with hot glue and insulated from the enclosure with cork...
