Pedal Industry Faux Pas

LWA guy is sad to see. Obviously a very insecure guy which is a bummer because of how welcoming I think a lot of the pedal building internet is. I know not every corner is as positive as this forum but it doesn’t seem like we’re a huge anomaly. There’s so much to be learned all over the place and plenty of people excited to share knowledge and really no reason to be insecure about not knowing something. He’s definitely really far gone but I can’t imagine coming out of pedal forums / groups like that.

So other than lone wolf just some minor stories and happenings:
  • Greenchild's whole "marketing" and most recently feud against JPTR FX. He doesn't seem to be around on social media anymore though.
  • JPTR FX has had a bunch of head scratch inducing marketing, misinformation about his circuits and generally shitty QC in the beginning and every now and then ever since.
  • JHS selling an SMD Rat clone for more money than the still through hole original Rat with basically just a diode switch as modification.
  • Poison Noises profiteering off Fulltone's faux pas by basically pushing the Crook that is a modded OCD onto artists and having an interview saying it all started because pedals have great profit margins.
  • Origin Revival Drive vs some company with the Revival name/trademark.
  • 42 Gear Street event taking considerable payments from pedal builders to barely and badly have their pedals recorded while the guys focused more on chilling in a hot tub and "humor".

I get emails from a particular pedal company every month or so promoting their "last run ever" of pedals ... this has been going on for a couple years now.

I generally don't unsubscribe from equipment brand marketing emails, because you never know... but man, it's becoming tiring.
Lemme guess....rhymes with "Letty-Prawn"......

Another fun game would be to see how many pedal builders check off more than one box in this thread. How many of the complaints in this thread can be applied to multiple builders?…

I mean I'm glad you're still in business dude, keep at it! .... just stop with the "This is the end" emails.

It comes off as shady after a while... Like that time Mike pretended to go out of business to boost sales and send his pedal values through the roof.

The cognitive dissonance of writing "I know not every corner is as positive as this forum" in a page that is 7-pages of shit talking is... a lot.
