i can hear a slight pulsing in the bypass signal with either a comp before hand or a drive afterwards. anyone else have this issue? is this normall or is it a fault do you think?

The circuit is active in bypass so it's possible that there is some audio bleeding over. It could be microphonic from the lamp?

Make sure your INPUT wiring is as far away from the LDR as possible.

Ahh, I think I see where you are going @Big Monk....if the PSU is not isolated....
They could try it with a battery on the affected pedal?

Photon Vibe has a charge pump. If any active pedals, upstream or downstream have an FV-1, PT2399, 3207 or any other sampling device, you could be picking up and aliasing the charge pump's 40KHz switching noise. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

Running my Aion Ares with my Electrovibe and Strymons on a non-isolated power supply gave a symphony of ticks, pulses and other noises.

So I know first hand!
