PPCB Dark Rift

Hi everyone,

Hope to be in the right place, for this kind of question.

I just fnished to build the Dark Rift (EQD Space Spiral clone) and it doesn't work.
Additionnal information, I bought a ready to soldering kit on Musikding (my second one).

Bypass is OK, but that's all.
No sound, and even the LED doesn't want to light up.

I only made one change, as I put a 10Kohm instead of the 4K7ohm for DEL, to reduce luminesence.
Here is the result :

And last but not least, I'm a real beginner/noob (put the word you want), only equipped with a soldering iron and a multimeter.

1) make sure you don't have you guitar plugged into the out. Easy to do w the pedal upside down
2)make sure IC in to right is fully seated
3) some of the joints on the 3pdt are questionable. I would slowly reflow and add a bit more solder. Make sure you give it time to cool between reflowing or you may melt the internals.

Thanks for your time.

I re-seated the LM833, and reflowed the 3PDT.
Still nothing.

Stupid question, but can a deffective DEL may prevent a pedal to work ?
'cause this DEL is from a cheap set found on Amazon (Allecin' brand).

LM324A at point 4 : 8.99V
LM833M at point 8 : 8.98V
TL072 at point 8 : 8.99V

The LED may not be shorted. Locked in its plastic clip, and welded straight to the PCB.

Ok. You're not shorting and power, at a glance, looks good.
If you have put together an audio probe, you should check inputs and outputs of the opamps. This is a quick way to narrow in on what part of the circuit you're losing signal at.
If you don't have an audio probe, I'd check the values of your resistors. If you can't count bands well, use a build report that has the same rev of your board and good clear gut shots.
Like this one
I'd also make sure you don't have any wires going from the pcb to the footswitch board that are shorting.
I see you have pot condoms on the upper pots so I assume you have them on the lower pots too.
If not, that's an issue.
