Ppcb forum re-evaluation

My new least favorite stupid question strategy is asking your question here- but with a whole preamble about how you asked chat GPT first.
Better than answering other people's questions with ChatGPT for them.

Or using Grok and just going on a racist tangent mid answer.

I have to say that I found here because of the DIYPedals reddit. I still scroll through. Sure, there's lots of chaff, but every now and then something interesting. It is a first touchpoint for new folks to the hobby or field.

It also is a lot less hostile as many reddits I know (some of which, perhaps, I read because of the entertainment factor). I tend to assume positive intent, so that probably makes me tolerant.

And when people ask the really DIFM "Where do I get PARTX?" I have been known to point out that the reddit page comes with a list of resources (which include PPCB).

Reddit is cool when you ignore all the idiots. But since I'm not allowed there anymore I only use it for news and the stuff for grown ups, you know... And of course I scroll through the diypedals sub.
There are some nice dudes/dudettes I had fun writing to but an aweful lot of entitled people I can't get my head around (also in the diy subs!!).
I feel that nowadays people don't want to think. I ask stupid questions too but a lot of questions there give me the feeling that they did not even try to search. They should use chatgpt for example. The time it takes to take a photo and write a question and post it and wait for feedback.... Chatgpt does that in seconds. You don't even have to type in a question, take a photo and see if it responds to what it sees.

I can't answer to people so i feel like Chandler if you know what I mean:

Maybe I try to get a new account and then I feel like this

Here's another series of interactions that I find very disappointing, this guy found something he finds interesting and wants to explore it, and the responses are immediately to denigrate the choice, and gatekeep people who just want to explore the hobby and not become some de novo circuit designer.

People are strange, indeed. ‘Nuff said.
