PSA: Fender.com Labor Day Sale

 well.. there are aftermarket bridges, found 1 place that has them with individual saddles for under $20, 1 chrome for single and chrome or gold for 'bucker.... and then there's bitterroot guitarsdown theroad from stompbox....I get truss rods from him already😁

Surprised isn't a sign above it "In Case of Boredom Plug in to Jack A of Amplifier B"...

Now for the repaint, ivoryish white or pearloid or satin cloth mimic white when mine gets in tuesday...

Is that the Bari? Can't quite tell....I was quivering over one of these.....but managed to stave it off. One NGD at a time Mike, one NGD at a time......small moves buddy......heh
It is the baritone. I originally planned on getting a danelectro baritone but the prices went up on those and this deal was too good to pass up. Plays and sounds great right out of the box which is surprising. Just getting used to the tuning and transposing things! The jazz bass is getting here on Tuesday. After that no more, right?

You got the Lake Placid Blue Jazz bass? Mine is supposed to arrive Monday.

Man, that's a whole nuther world for me.....not sure where I'm gonna go with upgrades. I hope I like the neck profile, I really dig the block inlay look on that thing. It will at the very least get the fingerboard, rolled edges and a fret level. I don't even know what kind of bass strings to get.

What's the equivalent of Ernie Ball Rock N Roll Slinky's of the bass world?

Yep the dirt cheap lake placid blue one! Looks amazing from the pictures. Right now I've got a short scale danelectro bass with flatwounds that has a very distinctive mellow tone. I'll probably keep roundwounds on the jazz bass to have a snappier sound.

The red, white and blue truck of blissfulness just dropped this off. She's a beauty.
Just a slight truss rod tweak and it's actually set up very well, nut is cut perfectly.

I ran it through my SVT plugin through my UAD Apollo and it sounds like.....well....a Jazz bass hahah.

I'll do a proper NBD post once I've had a chance to go over and do my little tweaks and fluff and buff routine....

Hey, it's all about the "Classic Vibe" doncha know?

It arrived 10min before I had to head out the door. I couldn't get the 3rd string to intonate but the rest were damn near on once I got it tuned to open d with maybe 6th string being 2 lines on the digi tuner sharp
now I recall what I didn't like about tele's.. the forearm relief(lack thereof)for the strum/pick hand. Thing plays rhythm bits with eeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaase!
