I am putting together a pedalboard for my guitar to use with a power amplifier only, so I need a nice clean preamp with full features. I already have an Aion DZ4 as my rhythm tone, so I am good on that front.

Can you elaborate @anevilspar7an on full features? I don't think I have the answer for you but that may help to narrow the search? My first thought is the Drebbel (Southampton Pedals Ictineo Preamp/EQ) which is a bass preamp but it has a lot of control and I believe some have had excellent results using it for guitar. With a calculated mod to roll off some bass frequencies it might do the thing.

Something with a tonestack, a gain control that barely adds any dirt, and a master volume. It has to simulate an amp's clean channel in essence.

The Musicman HD130 is an SS classic that's fairly easy to build. There was a DIY project for it on the EAE page, if I remember correctly.

Trying to stay away from tubes for everything before the power amp, so no tube preamps. I am looking to build their Steddy Go! DI in the future. Thanks for the suggestion man.
