I can most of the time get that if with my isopropyl alcohol. Sometimes a little WD40 messaged in softens and emulsify’s it. I wouldn’t try acetone though. I’ve had that shit r move powder coat.

isopropyl alcohol and one of these bad boys, plastic razor blades:

I’d personally spend as much time at it with iso alcohol, harsher solvents and heat can be brutal on the finish

Don't use a razor blade plastic or otherwise! There's really no need. Gaffa tape (called duct tape in the US) will usually do the trick - just stick some tape to the gunk and it will come off with the tape. It may take a few tries. And eucalyptus oil will get rid of the residue if there is any and evaporate leaving no trace. Eucalyptus oil is common at chemists and supermarkets in Australia - it's often used as something to breathe if you have a clogged nose. Iso alcohol should work too.

You could try Goo Gone (commonly available in the US) which I have used successfully on metal but it’s supposed to work on many surfaces.

Mayonnaise, believe it or not.

Sure works well on removing those stick-on bathtub flowers that were popular in the mid-'70s but aesthetically needed to be removed by the mid-'80s but hygenically speaking weren't peeled away until the mid-'90s...

Not to be confused with "Goo Be Gone" which contains acetone, Goo Gone is orange in color, Goo Be Gone comes in the same type of tin as lighter fluid

Isopropyl alcohol*, white spirits** or acetone***. Try a bit somewhere unseen first just in case there's a reaction.

* also called rubbing alchohol, IPA, ISO, isopropanol or propan-2-ol
** also called mineral spirits
*** chief ingredient of nail polish remover
