Rolling the dice with DHL

Pulled the trigger on a Tayda order yesterday. Shipping was $12 cheaper with DHL. I’ve heard mixed reviews from you guys on them, but I think it’s based on where you live. My order status is shipped as of this morning with a delivery date of Tuesday. Let’s see what happens. There’s only 1 part I need to complete a board I’m working on, but I can always start another one while waiting. 🤞

Oh, I’m in NJ

FWIW, if you've heard of general DHL experiences, Tayda uses DHL Express (at least to Finland) which is a separate thing. DHL Express gets here in two days from Thailand, while normal DHL takes a week from Germany. It's a big difference.

That's all a bit reassuring to hear to some degree. I've never had to use DHL for anything being in the States. I want a PCB that is sold out and the only way to get it is to get a kit from musikding. DHL is one of the only options, so still kicking around the idea. Gonna sleep on it for a few more nights.

Yeah Musikding is the one that takes over a week to get to Finland usually, it's much slower than Tayda, but I assume it should eventually get there. If it's a PPCB board I assume it's a matter of time until it's restocked, but impossible to tell when exactly.

Lol. Banzai laughs in the face of shipping times from Musikding. At least Musikding actually ship things. With Banzai you have to send them two emails to politely remind them that when you buy things you'd actually like to get them sometime, then they respond to say 1 of the items is out of stock and won't be due in for approx 6 months.

They don't bother telling you this unless you ask, they'd literally sit on your order for 6 months until the other part comes in then ship them together. All with no comms whatsoever.

And yet I still spend money there. Le sigh... Shakes fist at sky "damn you sparkly black Enclosures, damn you all to hell"

I've had nothing but good experiences with DHL. UPS on the other hand cannot tell the difference between 457 and 437. Francisco and I have become good friends delivery each other's packages.....
