Sabbath BC184 gain range?

Just getting started on a Sabbath Distortion for a buddy. For the BC184, I'm ordering it from Amplified Parts, and they offer the BC184 in a B or C version with the difference being the gain ranges: B 240-500 vs C 450-900. Any recommendation on which to go with?

Well, I guess the logical approach would be to try them both and see.

Try both. I suspect the bc184c will scratch the itch. I forget what I used in that spot, but it was a higher hfe bucket, I remember that. Knowing me as I do, I probably used either a bc549c or bc550c.
