Sabbath Distortion

Breadboard Baker
Here’s a Sabbath Distortion I finished this afternoon. The biggest issue I had was trying to source the mpf4393 and some grounding. Turns out I bought some fakes from eBay (surprise surprise). I substituted for PN4393 that I found at NTE Parts Direct. They seemed legit so I gave them a shot and am pleased. Will recommend them if Tayda or Smallbear is out.
Although there is nothing spectacular about this pedal, it is not muddy or high mids like the thermionic distortion. Overall I am really pleased with how this sounds and am definitely going to keep this on my board. Highly recommend for a great “generic” distortion pedal.
As always, big shoutout to everyone here on this forum for assisting me. Would be lost without you guys!

I just finished wiring this one up and... nothing. I notice that your Q1 transistor is in “backwards” did you have to reverse it?

Where did you get your 4393's ? If Ebay, 90% they are Fake!!!
Put some good Pictures up showing detailed PCB components, Jacks & switch connections!!!

The pinout was incorrect. What I got from Tayda was pretty darn close (don't remember the name off the top of my head) and was off by a letter at the end of the name. The guys here on this forum helped realize the pinout of what I bought was different than in the build doc. I had to put some wire insulator on and bent the pins in order to go in the socket. See pics.

Fyi, if you're not 100% confident with an eBay seller, save your money. If the price is too good to be true it probably is
