I’ve seen this before and I’ve never looked into it. What is going on with that little patch bay thing?!? I’m so curious! Is there a DIY version? I have so many questions…

Edit: I just realized it’s not a patch bay, just an additional enclosure with a bunch of switches! Delightful.

It’s been a while since I checked it out, but I don’t think there’s a DIY version. The whole side-car full of switches is pretty appealing visually, but honestly I don’t love effects with too many options. It’s like the the analog version of over-complex digital menu-diving hell. Plus I don’t think there were any sounds in the demos that really grabbed me.

I recently built this mini Jan Ray on a Delyk PCB (adapted from their mini Timmy project). Customer requested an external Saturation knob, and I was happy to oblige!

On the other hand I got to replay The Side Boob Hour in my head and that was a briefly entertaining mental cutaway gag to round out my afternoon.

Anyway, I've got a 1550jbk set to be delivered tomorrow. Now I gotta decide on knobs, and finish coming up with things that are stomp-switchable to make use of the surface area

Right now, I'm dead set on three rather simple circuits, so it won't be crammed. Though, if I can't come up with a couple more footswitchable mods to the Rat portion (I have about three, but I'm really only dead set on two of them currently), I might throw another fuzz behind it
