Show us your side knobs 😤

Vintage fuzzes (e.g., FZ-1 and Superfuzz) also had side-mounted knobs.
Yeah, looking at the wedge type enclosures and seeing the originals was what prompted me to consider side knobs. But, for this, I'll probably be using a 1590D or larger, so looking more for rectangular builds

I can’t find any pictures but I once made a run of ruby amps in 125B with the controls, switches, and in jack on the long side and the power and out jack on the back so that they sat like a miniature amp head.

With what I'm planning, I'm hoping I'll be able to squeeze six pots, a toggle, and the I/O jacks on one edge comfortably
It'll be getting three stomps minimum, but I'm still workshopping some other possible footswitchable options before I commit

I found working on the edge very intuitive, and there’s remarkably more space there than you would think. This sounds cool, I’m into it.
I got my start in pedal building by buying used fuzz pedals and installing starve knobs on the sides and then reselling them for profit on eBay over 25 years ago.

yeah, they look cool but are actually a total PITA to drill out because they tear so easily, plus they make the mechanical switch POP really loud. The M&M ones are little better because the small size makes them a little more sturdy.
