I finally finished restoring this OG univox hiflier short scale bass. Sounds and plays great now!

Drums are fun!

Pedalboard is out of control so I've started auditioning on the small stool and into the fx loop of the deluxe 85 for a nice flat check.

Amp shelf clockwise from bottom left. Solid state fender deluxe 85, school projector tube amp converted to a 5F1, fender champ 600, crate vintage 50 still needs a box, crate fx15 (bench amp), Danelectro model 89.

The rack...SSL 18 using a focusrite Octopre dynamic and a motu 896HD for expansion. A WA 312 mkii for an API pre flavor and then the venerable ART tube comp inserted on the first two channels of the SSL. And finally my KVM switch because m4pro for A/V, PC for gaming, old MacBook Pro for internet shenanigans and a thin client for the magicjack.

Thanks for looking!
This looks like a working multi-instrumentalist space. Very nice.
Also nice to see another strat plus (deluxe) in the real world!

Totally want to fool with a theramin

Few new additions to the family.

RCA branded Tungsram. Remind me of a mix between British and American. No pun intended.
IMG_2774.jpeg

Late 50s Tung-Sol. If you want a tube with BAWLZ this is your tube.

IMG_2782.jpeg

I62 Series Grommes branded Siemens. Great Hifi tubes. Dead quiet and transparent.
IMG_2841.jpeg
Telefunken smooth plate version 1. Similar to the Siemens with little more heft.
IMG_2888.jpeg
Believe this is a 60s Hitachi short plate. Sounds great! Nice smooth and quick breakup. Marshall fans dream.
IMG_2968.jpeg
Early 50s Sylvania long black plate. Clear, articulate, snappy with grittier break up.

My #.......somewhere down the line Strat, "Foamy"
IMG_8357.JPG
I love a good seafoam guitar...

Here's mine.. the strat started life as a John Mayer strat body that I stripped and repainted seafoam with some Klein '54 strat pickups, a blade runner trem system, hip shot tuners, and a 12-16 radius neck with an ebony fretboard and quartersawn maple neck. It is my take on an ultimate strat. The bass is a P-bass active deluxe.

It didn't even occur to me, I have a Seafoam Green Mustang bass, I should have done a family pic! That Strat looks awesome!

I also just noticed the William Burrough's tome on your bookshelf.......mugworm jism ftw!

Do it!

Thanks! It gets a lot of playtime.

Haha, yeah, I went through a phase of reading all the beat generation writers, Burrough was definitely my favorite because he was so unhinged. Which probably also explains my love for PKD novels and short stories as well...

I didn't realize till now how drastic condo living has stunted my rig.
Back in 2014 we moved into an apartment in Olympia, Washington. After a couple years I wound up having a buddy ship my Squire to me as I thought it'd would be fine without any instruments and there certainly wasn't room up there. It's good to take breaks but it's also therapy for me. I've kinda gone overboard with the rig since coming back to our house in Colorado however I regret NOTHING!!!

I probably would have bought a seafoam if I was picking colors back when I bought my strat if it had been available.

Beautiful pics
Thanks. What started as a hunt for a decent EF86 has led to a whole new hell of a hobby! It’s hard to get the old ones that still look good at a reasonable price but they’re certainly out there. I don’t pay any more than the cost of a new production tube. Maybe on a couple occasions for a NOS Mullard something I don’t have but I look for bargains. I have them tested at Tubedepot since they aren’t far from me, log and take pics of each one. Suppose I’ll eventually have to start trading or selling soon it’s gotten out of hand.

Sorry, I don't mean to be insensitive, but just a bit of perspective is that half of the stuff in my pics was free to me in some way.

All free:

Fender reverb
Roland JC120
3 acoustic guitars
3 electric guitars
Violin
Mandolin
Keytar
Desk
Computer
Chair 😁
I doubt anybody's trying to class-shame your rig.

Getting a peek at rigs from a variety of tax-brackets is pretty much what makes this an interesting thread.

Also - if I was inclined to resent you for having some cool gear, telling me you got it for free wouldn't help your case any. :ROFLMAO:
