Show your Rig

Been a bit since I posted. It's fun to see everyone's setup thought it would get in also.

Still a bit more I want to organize but getting close.

I have been working on the garage a bunch also.

On the wall that isn't pictured is a desk and I will eventually build a cabinet that will house a CNC machine. Long ways to go still to get it all in order.

You using that breast drill for anything?? I like using a brace, but I tried one of those and couldn’t get the hang of it.

On occasion I do. I drill metal with it, use a forstner or brad point bit. It's mostly for fun but it can drill some holes that would be hard on a drill press. It would easily drill and enclosure. It's a north brother's drill which does all kinds of interesting things https://www.timetestedtools.net/2016/07/30/north-brothers-yankee-no-1530a/

I appreciate y'all sharing your spaces. This is my WFH office and studio. I think I mentioned I am really more of a keyboard player but still appreciate my guitars and enjoy building pedals. Not visible my (until today) only amp a 1989 Peavey KB-100 (hiding under black cloth in the corner) and my first actual guitar amp, a Peavey VT Series 212, that I picked up at lunch today! and a handful of synth modules/keyboards. Are those the DG pickups in the red strat?
Original Fender-Lace pickups. I took the pick guard off once, and I think they are the original lace Golds but I didn't know enough to write it down or take a picture at the time (that was easily a decade or more ago).

It's a 1988 Strat Plus that I bought used in 1989 (possibly best impulse buy I have ever made). In proper light, it's Dusty Rose that has mellowed to a nice salmon color. I have truly never done anything but replace strings, replace the original knobs (which I still have) and adjust the pickup height.

I'm gonna need more details on your reel to reel
@Harry Klippton It's a Sony TC-730 that I picked up from an estate auction. Mostly because I have electronic music ¼" reels I made in college that I haven't been able to access since then. It is an interesting model because it has a tape echo function built in. I have no idea why Sony did this, but hey, this makes it the biggest effect unit in my collection. It is also direct drive, so no old belts to replace,

It does work, but maybe you know where I need to apply some lubricant on these, because the pinch roller is supposed to shift from side to side depending on direction, and it doesn't move on it's own. It will respond with a gentle nudge, so I think I just need to find the right mechanism to clean and lubricate.

I also have multiple reels of Ampex tape, mostly blank, from the 80's so some day soon my wife is going to be asking me why I have put tape reels in the oven. Or I need to figure out if one of our labs at work has a vacuum oven I can use for a day.

I use 91% IPA to clean old grease and I use Super Lube because it's allegedly compatible with everything

So - genuine question here - for those of you with multiple versions of a guitar (say strat or tele). Are these variations in the electronics (i.e. different pickup and wiring sets) and variations on the necks? I totally get having different electronics and maybe string sets so that you can get different voicing out of the guitar, but if you know what neck shape you like, do you stick with that or do you find different shapes suit different styles of playing. I am just trying to convince myself to get good enough to play something that I will share publicly on the guitar I have (TBH, the squier and bass in my studio belong to children off at college) before worrying about adding to the kit, but I could see ultimately having a strat, a tele (I do love twang in the right song), and an LP just for the difference in sound.
