So get this… I sent an email to Reverend to see if I could buy a spare control plate so I could etch it and still have the original equipment and they responded the same day with “just give me your address a we’ll send you one!”

I was thinking about this more after you mentioned it'd look weird with an etched plate/non-etched screws. You're right- it would look weird.
What if you masked-off little circles around the screw-holes? or alternatively mask a chrome "pin-stripe" down the middle so that none of the holes/slot actually get etched?

*Does that even make sense? Just an idea.

My current plan is to etch the screw heads on the plate screws. I pressed my luck and asked Reverend to send me a set. It might look strange if the screw heads don’t match the rest of the guitar though.

I appreciate the creative thinking but I’m not a racing stripe kinda guy.

But, thanks to Reverend’s generosity, I can always switch back to all OEM parts if it doesn’t look right.!!!
