Songs you thought you'd learn some day, but never did

Every time I’ve daydreamed about playing guitar as an adult type person it is this song. I have have never learned it or stumbled upon it while noodling (which is usually how I learn known songs). But it fricks my face in my favorite ways.

I have tried to incorporate Like I Care by Helmet into my nervous system, but I have never succeeded in playing that goddamn riff correctly.

I’m otherwise a pretty good guitar player.

I tend to learn intros, verses, and choruses, but leave out any bridge or other parts of the song, and not realize I never learned the full song until years later.

And I'm really bad at solos, so for most songs I don't know the solo (and when I do it's usually only the first few bars)--something I really need to work on.

Always thought I'd learn "Hazy Shade of Winter". That intro lead bit always has me fumbling, even tho I've practiced it a thousand times.

I've learned far more complex tunes, but Hazy Shade of Winter has me on the ropes.

Ok, that one I had down! I was at a party and the band took a break, so I asked the guitarist if he'd mind if I played while they rested. He gave me that look, I told him how long I'd been playing and he handed me his Tele. I played a couple Zeppelin tunes and then started FreeBird. The drummer says "Oh fuck, there goes break" and started in. Next thing I know we're jamming the rest of the evening and the next day I get an invite to be in the band.

Ahhh..... memories. It was my first date with the girl I ended up living my life with..... Needless to say she was impressed, lol....
