Stereo Chorus with two PCBs

My idea is to use two Caesar or Cepheid PCBs, and take inspiration from the Duo Phase.

So adding a switch for independent or shared LFO, and then a switch to invert the LFO on one side. Also adding the same switched jack wiring, where it can be used in series or parallel/stereo.

I’m open to any conversation around this. I’ll also give it a shot sometime and share my experiments / findings.

I’m definitely interested to follow along and see how this turns out. I have a stereo Walrus Julianna that is pretty cool but it only has one LFO. I’d definitely be interested to hear what stereo chorus with two LFOs and one of them inverted sounds like.

If you like how the duo-phase preforms in stereo I say go for it, to be honest I found it to be relatively subtle, and not sure if I would chase that configuration if I wanted a stereo chorus assuming you would get a similar width in stereo imaging. That would be an expensive build for the return.. but if it didn’t work out you could always box up the separate circuits and sell or gift one of them. And there is an argument of doing it just because you want to tinker that’s fair as well.

I did have that thought, it would definitely be way easier to just invert the signal to a 2nd output jack, and it may be diminishing returns as far as effort to effect difference.

I love tinkering, so that’s definitely a factor here 😁

Initially I thought the Caesar would be better suited for this, because it has a reputation for being able to produce dramatic/intense modulation.

EDIT: When I jam with my friends, I have two amps on the opposite sides of the room, pretty far away from each other. When I use the duo-phase with that setup, it sounds awesome, so that’s where the idea came from.

Have you tried the Double Pendulum (or similar) in this configuration?

I've set it up in the room with back-to-back amps facing opposite directions.... it's my solid-state leslie. :ROFLMAO:

Have you built a Binaura yet? There are some pretty good stereo algorithms out there and is actually a pretty simple build.
Not yet. But my brain went there this morning. I was actually searching through the forum and found some good resources for stereo FV-1 patches. I put it in my wishlist.

While getting ready to make the moves on sale day, I’m backing out of this idea for now. I still think it would be cool to cook up a design to synchronize the LFOs of two circuits.

My plan now is to add a DRY OUT to the Caesar. I thought it might be neat to make it a switched jack. So when I plug in, it takes the dry signal that was going into the BLEND, and the OUT is 100% modulated signal.

That way, it’s just the normal pedal, but when I plug into two amps I can create the effect acoustically.
