Stereo Mixer

I want to mix two stereo sources to one is my current need, but i think 4 would be nice.

I guess two stereo sources would be 4 channels… but you know what i mean.

What i want to do is take the stereo line out from my me-90 and my stereo out from my pc and send them to monitors and easily adjust volume etc.

You can passively sum line sources without much issue. A lot of consoles did it this way for decades.
No real need for a summing mixer with only 2 sources. Just use a pot as a blend.
The caveat is balanced signals. Then you need to unbalance/rebalance.

Funny how I realize how little I know about such a simple thing. So my powered monitors have balanced trs and xlr ins and for unbalanced an rca.

The output of my ME-90 is switchable from line to basically a pedal output. What I really want is to be able to use the monitors for just music etc from my desktop, use the monitors (they are powered) for the stereo output of the me 90, and sometimes have them both going at the same time to play along with tracks etc. But I want to have just one set of cables running to the monitors and I want to be able to plug into a mixer (or something easily accessible) so I'm not getting to the back of the monitor (which is on a shelf on both sides of the room) regularly.

If I'm understanding you correctly something like this could work? Stereo Mixer.png

I don't mind the idea of having an actual powered mixer to do this though if there are any advantages to it though.

That's pretty much it. That would give you a left and right independent blend between the two sources.
Could use a stacked/stereo pot as well if you're not interested in mixing the left and right independently.
I would add a 1k resistor between the center lugs and output so if you blend all the way one way, there's still a load at the input.
Thinking about it, abetter option would 2 MN pots wired like so

The beauty of MN taper is in the center position, you have near zero attenuation of each signal in the center position. Sweeping left only attenuates on, right the other. Essentially, the taper doesn't start until the middle and each sides taper is inverted. Now, I'm not certain the ground will be needed so may want to try with and without.
I would still use a 1k on the output.
If you use stereo jacks you could possibly fit it in a tiny 1590lb :)
I would advise using an isolated jack(s) for the output(s) and adding a ground lift. Or at least leave room to add a ground lift in the event you run into ground loop issues.
