Tayda!! Square LEDs!!

Never seen these before on Tayda and now it’s got my mind thinking up all sorts of cool thoughts. These remind me of being a kid and taking apart old car radios/CBs. They often had these type of LEDs for the eq visuals. I had totally forgotten about them until now. GASing hard for some square LEDs, but how does one make a nice square cut without spending $$$$ on a laser. Aye crumba.

Would be awesome to have a blacked out enclosure with several square red LEDs doing the Kit movement. Hasselhoff would approve. Lol.

The red ones have been there since at least 2019, I use them in builds where the original pedal is older because they come in at lower forward voltage closer to the old school red LEDs, I've always wanted to use these for a boost pedal and have them arranged in a bar going from green to red and have the clipping threshold of the boost be indicated by the lights.

I’ve got something in the works pretty similar to that. I just need to get my act together and actually finish up the PCB layout

I have a board designed for that if you’re interested. There’s a small error on it that I need to fix though.
I appreciate the offer, it's going to be a ways out if I ever get around to it, I have a bit too many plates spinning at the moment with my other projects. I'd love to see what you make with the board though, lots of interesting possibilities!
