Hello all. Thanks for having me. I a having an issue with the Tayda toolbox. I have done several projects with them in the past with no issues. My latest project is causing some frustration. This is the error message I am getting.

- There is wrong layering issue. You have put white layer on top of color layer, it should be white layer under color layer. Please fix it. If you have things in color layer that covering white layer and if you need to expose things in white layer, you can do it by cropping things in your color layer using pathfinder function in AI to expose white layer under it.

There is no white in the design. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! GOT - Gold.jpg

Welcome to the forum! If you post the PDF that you uploaded at Tayda, one of us would be happy to take a look at it for you and see whether we can spot any issues.

Your document has only one layer, named "Layer 1". Tayda wants you to have your layers named, from bottom to top : WHITE, COLOR and GLOSS-V or GLOSS-M

Also, is there any white left in your design ? There should be no white in the color layer.

I've done at least one project without the WHITE layer without any problem. If I was you, I would start by trying to rename your layer "COLOR" to see if it's the problem.

Might be an issue with the raster image. Maybe some pixel around the edges has the same color code as the RDG_WHITE spot color and this is causing problems. It would be better if you used vector graphics only.

I agree with what @Nic has said, and I'd add that I'm a little surprised that nobody has mentioned your document size, color profile, or background. The white layer error may be related to the background of the page being solid white instead of transparent. The error message may be a boiler plate response for white layer issues.

I'd:
  • fix the document size
  • set the background to transparent
  • set the color mode to CMYK (instead of RGB that it is now)
  • use vector objects and text instead of a raster image
  • group the color vector objects inside of a layer named COLOR
I have done several projects with them in the past with no issues.
If this is the same type of PDF you've sent to Tayda in the past with no issues, I'm surprised. They can be a little picky sometimes about file structure and formatting.
