I'm assuming since it's a UAD pedal that it's all software....Sometime last winter I went down a rabbit hole on how to DIY an 1176. It looked quite doable if I had the time or the funds. Of course I'd need to of em
I mean an actual rack 1176 not a pedalI'm assuming since it's a UAD pedal that it's all software....
I recently experimented with running a thumbsucker into a general tso and I did not regret it one lil bit.I don't really get compressors. I should probably get someone who loves em to show me how they use theirs. Maybe I've just never tried a really good one. I always find I'd muck about for a bit, get a sound I like, play for a while then turn it off and think "wow that's much better" and then never mess with it again.

I am intrigued by this uafx 1176 …
Sorry meant to reply to michaelw’s post but my thumz grabbed yours!Lol if I can't get one compressor to sound good I don't think I'd do much better stacking them.

The Cali76 is in a different league, and it’s reasonable to assume this UAD will be as well.I don't really get compressors. I should probably get someone who loves em to show me how they use theirs. Listen to any Power Pop records. Great example is I Wanna Be With You by the Raspberries. Heavy compression is the key to the punch!I don't really get compressors. Well now I want to get a Cali76…The Cali76 is in a different league, and it’s reasonable to assume this UAD will be as well.
The Cali76 does the leveling thing very well and that’s how I tend to use it. The super squashed sounds are not for me. It sounds like it may be the same for you.
Ahhh, ok a DIY Rack? Is that a thing?I mean an actual rack 1176 not a pedal

I like it when my guitar gets louder if I hit it harder.
