The "_____" for people who don't like "_____" pedals thread

So every now and then I've heard a few different pedals described as such - for instance, I see a lot of people say that the 1981 DRV (Informant) is "A Rat for people who don't like Rats," or the EQD Plumes as "A Tube Screamer for people who don't like Tube Screamers".

I guess I kind of get the sentiment (not sure it makes sense all of the time) but in the spirit of fun and whatnot...what are your favorite examples of pedals that would fit this criteria?

Generally I would take it to mean "built in the style of/based on a certain type of pedal but doesn't really sound like/play like that type of pedal typically does" or something like that...you get the picture.
 
This is why I always come back to the Rat circuit- for me it's an amazing distortion, but also an overdrive for people (me) that don't like the typical candidates.
Same with it being a fuzz for people that don't like typical fuzz circuits (though as I get older, I'm getting further into the nastiness). The Op-Amp Muff also sorta serves that same role, for me at least

I'm still on the lookout for a reverb and delay for folks that care for neither :ROFLMAO:

the rat is too valuable IMO i use it in almost every setup!

I'm inclined to agree with you- to a point. At high Distortion levels, and with the right pickups, it does that saggy, ducking blowing up amp thing that I would definitely call fuzz
 
The Blammo! Electronics Bluesblaster is a great Bluesbreaker for people who want a BB to do more. It has a nice push button gain boost that's really "cranked Marshall" sounding. You can see a red glow inside (non-cosmetic) so I assume it's engaging an internal LED to punch the traditional BB "Mayer" tone into a nice distortion...
 
How about the blues driver for people who don’t like the Boss BD-2?

I think the Mojo Hand Fx Bluebonnet is supposed to be similar sounding, but they're a bit scarce secondhand. I’m considering the Oneder Old Blue or Keeley Super Phat Mod as alternatives, but I’d welcome any other suggestions.

Depends what isn't quite doing it for you with the blues driver. The OD3 has a similar set up for the gain stages with additional soft clipping diodes which I think makes it sound smoother in a way I like.
 
The Dimension-C is the chorus for people who don't like chorus.

I mean, I can't vouch for those people to begin with, but that's my closest on-topic sentiment.
