Reverse Engineer
I planned on keeping this quiet until it was closer to time but I think it'd be more productive to document the progress, just so we know the exact moment when all went wrong. Also I'm sure there are folks here who are far more experienced than me and can chime in with advice and criticism.

I'm in the process of converting the old BuGGFX Mobile Workshop into a powdercoating room.

The inside is a mess, we'll save the interior pics for later.

Ground rod is in. Of course I decided to start doing outside labor when the temperature is regularly above 100F.

I don't plan to even attempt to keep up with Tayda or any of the other guys, but I thought this would be a good way for us to get some colors we can't get otherwise.

I originally considered ordering batches from PPP and offering them with no minimum quantities but the cost would be so high I don't think anyone would want them. I'm hoping this will allow me to keep the cost down.

You can always convert this into ice cream trailer :)

Clean your gun outside the trailer, especially if you're goigng to use compressed air to blow the powrder off the gun.
In my powder coating room I'd like to have fans with filters to keep the powder from covering every, I repeat, every surface.

Awesome. Yeah I remember the possibility of PPP group buys. They seem to have completely moved toward LARGE bulk at this point.

Also, double (ground) post?
 
My plan is to split the interior in half. The back wall will be fans and filters wall to wall, ceiling to floor, with a dust collector / water filtration for cleanup.

The front half will contain some shelving and the oven(s).
 
Yep, PPP used to do one-offs... They weren't cheap, but they offered them.

Now the minimum purchase is 25 and they average at around $17 per enclosure even at that quantity (not including shipping). I gave it some thought, but that's just not very sustainable.

I remember the days. The one-offs were with previous ownership, right? Then the folks that took it over phased out components and introduced the MOQ? Their enclosures were never cheap, but they offered EVERY prismatic powder and used Hammond enclosures. Between them and Mammoth, you could really get anything.

Yep, that was Connie. When the new owner (Randy) took over they pretty quickly phased out one-offs.

I've asked about better bulk discounts for quantities above 100 but they don't seem to want to budge beyond that.

I get it. It's just a drag for us DIY folks since that name has a history of being available to us.

I'm stoked at the prospect of dual shot finishes (e.g., the pearlescent and sparkle effects).
