This is Why Top Mounted Jacks Rock! … a pedalboard story

I just rearranged my grab and go board, which is on a Rockboard Duo 2.2. The board is 24-1/2 x 5-1/2. I was able to fit 4 of the PedalPCB pedals that I’ve built. Those are the Timmy Time (Tommy III / Timmy V3), Aetherial Drive (Mahayana / Zendrive), Derailer (TWE-1) and Spooky Middle Things (Maleficent Mids / Haunting Mids). In addition, I also have a Keeley compressor, TC SubnUpMini, a TC Flashback 2 and my home made pedalboard friendly Princeton Reverb footswitch.

I rally like top mounted jacks and this makes a case for them.

FYI: the MXR Tap Tempo is actually modified and serving as a Red Remote for the Morning Glory V4. Oh! I forgot to mention that there is a Morning Glory V4 in the board, too!

This post might need a trigger warning because of the high JHS content. 😅

That's the best circuit JHS has ever put out by a wide margin. The bright-cut switch should be called "tone suck", but other than that, it's magnificent.

If he'd have stopped after that one, he'd be revered in the pedal world... but a lot poorer.

From ridicule to praise just a couple pages over, I picked well I guess
Yeah the switch on the side I forgot all about

I've never understood the anti-JHS sentiment. He says some things I don't agree with* and makes some choices with his pedals that I wouldn't make with mine, but I could say that about most people in the business. Love him or hate him, he's a walking encyclopedia of pedal history and he's done as much for the industry as a whole as anybody over the last decade or so. He's also supportive of the DIY community.

*For example, I cringe when I hear him defending SMD.
