CONTEST
Slow going… first (nearly all black) image is the stone with a former student’s work on it. I’ve spend the past 2 hours grinding it down and I’ve finally gotten it mostly clear, but I still have a faint ghost on the stone, so it’ll probably be a few more passes. After that I’ll have a few hours of work cut out for me in polishing it with progressively higher grits. My forearms are on fire and I’m sure my back will be killing me tomorrow morning

Ah, lithography. I did that in school, too. I don't miss those big swirly metal grinders. Make sure you're careful when you start drawing on the stone, it's rough getting mistakes out. Best of luck and I hope yours turns out better than my few sad attempts did!

That ends this round! Onto round two...

How about a groovy $50 StompBoxParts gift code? Need some more componentry in your stash?

RocknRoll!

Everyone's still in it, but feel free to graffiti the thread until Fri. ;)
Woot!

Who is this awesome fig guy?

Oh wow! Been eons since I did any lithography in art school, but still have some of my old prints. Was a fun course, except for the part where it turned out I had mono and wondered why I got so tired moving those 150lb limestones around

Yeah, the limitations of editing process was really emphasized to us to make sure we’re careful to avoid mistakes. I’m planning on doing something a bit more harsh and unrefined for my first litho print so I can get accustomed to drawing on the stone and making deletions without being too precious about the details.
I’d love to see some pics of your old lithos if you have any handy!

...so here we are. Man, that was easy. :ROFLMAO:

I've got a $50 Sweetwater card to kick off the thread. I know...Labor Day sale ended...but that's Fig for you.

Speaking of easy...things are much too complicated in this world, so in honor of simplicity ( simple is my middle name ), I'll grab a random-type post # on Tues.

We attended an eight-year old's birthday party today. I got to play with some cool toys...my wife says I fit right in. We got him a rock tumbler. Cool gift but about as fun as a monogrammed fork....so we also got him a Lego megladon!

What's Happening with y'all?
hey I love rock tumblers still have one (not my original). and ....hey I love my monogrammed fork ....SET!!! They only get pulled out and polished when finer folks than I come to dinner. We never serve soup or the likes cause my mom woulda had to pay xtra for the knives and spoons . She said " On your next birthday, honey, or maybe Christmas! It,s only a few months away"" , with a big smile. Those B-days and Christmas,s came and went but never did I see a full set. I really really wanted the shrimp forks they were on my list for a few years ...........(Sigh) Fig your posts (even when gone for a week or 10 ) always stir up suppressed emotions I thought I'd dealt with, with my suppression of them. I wonder if my mom saw or felt the depression when I only got the forks. I mean who wants just the forks? Can,t eat soup with forks mom. At the time I couldn't even use them , I had no teeth ! So I ate smushed fruits and berrys and SOUPS ! and she gets me forks ? I mean what the hell!!!???!!!! ya know? Just thinking about is bringing me back to that day and making me angry again.
Okay gotta go

well.... only cause you asked. I never really got along with legos. We were a Lincoln Logs family and I usually don't ever say that outloud or in public due to the years of shaming but I need to know cause it feels like I'm in the lion's den of Lego Lovers and I just need to know if my preference would exclude me from future contests whether with or with out Lego festivities that may or may not be all inclusive or not.. My wife says I should'nt poke the bear but then why is there a stick in my hand? ya know ? I mean that's what I'm thinking when she spouts off crazy things like that.
And Lego Lovers - can't we just realize the different paths that can be tooken by each person to get to where we wanna be. Sure those shiny plastic pieces snapped together make a fine skyscraper or Megalodon but so does the Lincoln log . And AND only trees are hurt making lincoln logs really safer and better for everybody. I never heard of any body choking down a Lincoln log but.... Legos .... ya know with the tiny pieces and stuff even young adults need to be supervised playing with Legos. but not Lincoln logsi mean yeah you look hard enough you might find one kid putting a lincoln log or 2 where they don't go but it's not rampant. I mean Legos (Is it legos or legoes when it's plural I'm all about political correctness so I don't want offend anyone) it's like when I see that shiny red brick I want to eat it it looks like candy. Candy I want to eat. I never tried to eat a Lincoln Log. Ever.
See where this is going and the dangers? Inherent to and with the Legos and their peoples? I'm not TRYING to scare anybody but people should be made aware of these situations that are happening by the minute if not seconds. Its not my duty but its everyones right to be informed and this stuff they wont tell you
I'll leave it at this.. ..It is no fun in the sun passing several legos no fun at all. A lot of grimmacing and some tears happened that day.

This forum is grate. Even getting all political and stuff is cool here.
Thank you for helping spread the Real truth and if anybody finds there hearts lifted write the lego people tell anyone who will listen that Legos HAVE to taste better. I'm done eating flavorless Legos.
