Thoughts on a DIY expression pedal

I’ll start by saying it would probably be easier to just suck it up and buy a Moog ep-3, but having had one previously, it just feels cheap. So got to thinking, I have a 200k econo wah pot from small bear, what’s to stop me from building my own. That said, 200k is not a common pot value for most of the things you would want to control on a pedal. So how ab a rotary switch with various resistors in parallel across lugs 1 & 3 of the wah pot to adjust to suit? Could just use a regular pot, but then you wouldn’t have calculated/distinct values. Ideally I would like to have a 1M wah pot to start with, but not sure if that exists. Could you make one from a regular long shat pot and gear? Am I crazy, or could this work? Has anyone seen higher value wah pots or made their own wah pot?
