Thoughts on Mogami cables?

Great reviews elsewhere....anyone have any feedback?
and / or what is your #1 instrument / patch / cable?

I agree with chris, I buy from btpa.com and have used mogami and canare and all kinds of stuff. It all sounds great through a loud amp

I bought a couple of cables from a guy on an G&L forum ages back (maybe 15+ years or so?) who made them and he used Canare GS-6 cable and Neutrik connectors and they have been bulletproof. I have used them almost exclusively in that time for practice and live shows.

I have been wanting to make my own but I don't really have the need right now. I found this site a while back and saved it if you're looking for individual parts to make your own: https://www.redco.com/home.php

I just bought some mogami cable and plugs from Redco also

Thanks everyone!

I was pretty bummed yesterday....when I was unaware one of my bargain patch cables came apart in the connector and I was troubleshooting a board. I want to replace all of those and pick up a good 3-5 meter guitar cable. I have a new amp head coming and also want a speaker cable for it. All of this leads to my query.

Thanks everyone! I went to Redco (though I am also looking at btpa as well for some other stuff) and got a roll of Canare GS-6 and some neutrik connectors.

Now I need to go and apologize to that build. I said some pretty awful things to it.

Thanks @fig, but ... Still stuck in Honkers. Logistics of moving during Covid = nightmare.

You'll know I'm in Canucka, I'll be a busy beaver building ... beavers, maybe a few D*A*Ms as well...

Just thinking of maybe buying a reel here, or there.

I bought a 4 pack of 30 foot cables from musicians friend for $29 on a deal of the day and that has been working very well for me. I use it as bulk cables to make all sorts of lengths. The connectors are from redco and Amazon

Redco order arrived. I made a couple cables and they are VERY quiet.
This Mogami coax is pretty good stuff. Here's some shots of me destroying a piece.
You can see the cross-section
Then the outer insulator removed
Next a shot of the inner inner insulator jacket still on
Then the jacket removed.
Then the inner insulator removed.
Finally a nice thick core for soldering.
The Neutrik NP2s are great as well!

Looking there now. Wow, they have a lot of stuff!
Was mostly guitar/amp parts, but they I found they have been adding pedal-related stuff in the last 1 1/2 year. Saved me more than once when I had forgotten a couple of parts in my Tayda order. I could drive to their warehouse (pre-pandemic) but I'd rather pay the flat 10$ CAD shipping for most of the order I did than loosing an hour. I always file that as a fee for my forgetfulness...
And as a bonus, as I did small orders, the box they came in were perfect for shipping pedals afterwards!

Most of my patch cables are DIY cables with the smaller diameter mogami stuff. I'll be honest it feels overpriced for what it is, but I haven't seen anything that looks comparable (nor have I really looked for it).
