Found myself curious over PPCB's "Two Sticks of Derm Fuzz" one-knob fuss circuit and wanted to try it out; so I got three. The first test construct was pure stock build and it sounded wonderful. Still, for grins, I wanted to test things further by replacing the two VCC resistors (R2 & R6) with trimpots to try out some NOS Germanium BJTs. Ooooh are they sweet!
After acquiring the resistance values for best performance on the Ge trannies, I built out the other two Derm builds with some NOS NPN Ge trannies, but without trimpots & matched the values found with the sweet spots on the two trimmers.
And again, AmplifyFun did fantastic job with artwork & drills on the enclosures after working up a fun little homage to Sponge Bob.
