No. I haven't tried on bass...and thank you.

I have, it squishes my bass nicely. It's especially nice with my upright where the e string is quieter than the other 3. At the proper settings it really evens things out without being in the way. I'm historically anti compression too.

That's why I want to build a compressor. There's always a string that's louder/quieter no matter the setup. It happens in different registers and it depends on the room as well so it can be unpredictable.
BTW I really wish I could learn to play upright bass!
