VFE pedal component group buy. Order form in post #1 (Dec 2)

Does anyone have any experience hand soldering the LTC3261?

I just watched Peter's KBv2 audio circuit walkthrough video and near the end at about 29:20 he talks about it. There is a pad underneath the super tiny chip that is soldered and he says he doesn't recommend attempting it by hand and mentions special equipment.

Seriously though, I think solder paste and a hot plate will be the way to go for these projects if you don’t have a hot air station

Damn, I was hoping to get away with a fine tip swipe but it sounds like I need to buy some paste and practice a bit.
 
I think I'm on the hook for a Klein Bottle, Bumblebee and Mini-Mu, so I'd be for the components/pots for each.
 
I guess I am buying up the entirety of the dual C10/100k pots SBP has then. For those with pots, I am going to need to bump up shipping cost. Pots aren't flat, so I think I may need bigger packaging.

This may all be easier to handle on my end if I know who doesn't want chips or pots for theirs.

If you're just ordering from SBP to reship them, then there's probably little benefit to you doing this given the additional logistical problems (at least for people in the US). It's obviously up to you whether or not you decide to do it, but I can just as easily toss them in with my next SBP order if it saves you trouble beyond the trouble you've already signed up for :). Keep us posted.
 
Everything you got except for pots for me on my klein bottle and woodchipper. I'm in no rush and can order from sbp later if it's easier for you and cheaper to ship.
 
Leaving everyone to get their own pots is fair, especially if there's no bulk discount. Many will need something else for the build anyway.
I'll reiterate, I'll take chips for 2xKB and 2x WC.
Anyone good with hot air and smd want to take care of my smd parts for a fee?
Already got pots way to early.

Would be cool if SBP could do a short run production of predrilled KB boxes!
Or. If someone is getting some from tayda, hit me up.
 
I would like to leave pots to the individual. There is no real savings, only a few cents each.

If getting them from SBP is an issue (ie you live outside the US), I will help, since I am shipping you stuff anyway. But I really would prefer not to deal in the pots.

As a note, the quantity SBP has of the dual pots is rather limited and we will collectively need all of them based on what I am distributing. So please, only get what you actually need. Other wise, somebody may be very sad.
 
I feel like I need to do some practice SMD work. I will see what I can do about soldering services, otherwise there is a lot of extra shipping going on.
