VHS-pedal FV-1 pin1 ?

look at the schematic in the build doc. pins 1 and 2 are tied together so you can use your meter to see whether the upper left 2 pins are connected, or whether the 2 pins on the lower right are connected. you can use your meter to verify other connections but that looks like the simplest thing to check.

no polarity on the crystal.

does this mean you are also going to solder your fv-1 onto the board? did you get it from a seller that is reliable?
 
The line down the lefthand side of the silkscreen is the side with Pin 1. This line corresponds to the beveled edge on the actual IC.

Newer revisions of the silkscreen will have the typical Pin 1 indentation.

...yes to soldering. Got the kit including the fv-1 from Musikding Germany. Any alternatives to soldering to pcb? Some kind of a socket?
