I’ve heard of cutting out chunks of the old carbon resistors, but not with caps! Worth a try!

It seems to work...I removed the entire cap, leaving only the leads......virtually zero capacitance!

Seems to work- kinda subtle for sure. I’ll have to watch some vids to see how this thing’s supposed operate. And how to bias it correctly. I did use a 201 instead of the 2SK208.

First salvage I’ve ever attempted! This one was a little bigger than pocket sized, but it said “eleven transistor” on the nameplate, so I figured it was a decent bet.

Not sure how useful they’ll be, but I got em all out.

I have been sitting on these a while, I have a retrofit module as well, and to be honest I can’t tell the difference, I thought I could at first, but if it’s real it is so slight it doesn’t even matter… but “mojo “ ya know…

I’m paying no extra. I used the line option on The Tayda drill tool.

It took me one test enclosure to get the spacing right.

This is the blank test enclosure vs. the final:

Because of how I spec’d it to Tayda (this was my first square hole), they hit the top face of the pedal on the underside. I used a file to fit the jack in and them adjusted everything down by 1.8mm.

Just wanna say this is probably the best, and best executed, idea you've had so far

Edit: they were listed as "for parts/not working" but aside from a loose board and dirty vol pot, the Magnavox one works! I mean, it's only AM, but still. Guess that means I'll tackle the other two first.
