What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Eric Johnson Fuzz Face with a couple of tweaks.
I increased the input cap to 2u2. I might use a tantalum like for the emitter cap.
I also added a 10nF cap from input to ground to tame the hiss a bit.
It's still aggressive, being Silicon, but a bit warmer.

The first transistor is a 3904 IIRC gain is 200. Q2 is a BC183C with a gain of 540. I need to buy a few BC183As to find one around 200 for Q1.

I feel like a total newbie cause I can't get a voltage reading on the collectors. I usually put the ground probe on the first clip of the output jack but now it isn't working.

I spent hours going back and forth between this and my Ge FF. There's something about Germanium. It's like the distortion is higher resolution, with finer grain and no harshness. It sounds fatter and gainier even though the transistors have much lower gain.
And the cleans are awesome, especially with the Jazzmaster. That added brightness totally negates the need for a treble bleed.
Silicon sounds grainier and like it's sitting on top of my bypassed tone while Germanium sounds like it might be coming from the amp.
I really need to order some NPN Germaniums.

Are you connecting it to a switched lug that is disconnected from the sleeve of the cable?

It's a stereo jack but I have no idea how it's wired in the Protoboard Micro.
Maybe it's not the jack but the wonky battery clip I'm using. Will try again with a power supply.

BTW does anyone know why the filter cap across the rail adds noise to my breadboards? All my fuzzes are quieter without it.

Still waiting on parts to finish the Biggus Synthus builds, so threw together this rats nest of a synthyboi -

(Further) Into the Unknown / Arcadiator w/ Modboard

Going to make a demo, but my roommate has been binging Doctor Who, so I'm trying to make sure I can come up with something other than just the rhythm and lead from the opening theme.
The theremin settings work amazingly for the lead sounds, though

I removed the volume pot on my tele and replaced it with a bass cut. I think I may reduce the cap size from 4.7n to 2.2n but I think this is a more useful setup for me.

On a related note, anyone know of a 24mm 1M reverse audio pot? Literally couldn't find one, got a 500K in there now

Can't help you but I want to say the Eric Johnson FF uses a 470k reverse log. I'm using a 500k in my prototype above and it's really weird, can't imagine using it for volume on a guitar, it only starts doing something half way down. Do you need it for tone?

Most schematics for a bass cut use 1M reverse. I'm using 500K because that's all I could find

Restoring one of mt 1st test bed to mod Superleads. A million mods and holes in this one. Was Jeff Youngs amp in early Megadeath and was hacked by Lee Jackson in 86. I wish I had photos, omg. I actually contacted Lee asking for help as it wasnt working when I got it. His reply was, "Buy my video." and he hung up. I yanked the board 22 years ago. Here I am repopulating that tattered ST-1 and turning her back into a MKII spec Superlead again. IMG_2408x1920.JPG

That's awesome.
