What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Damn!! That looks great! That's powder I take it?

That flowed out nice and smooth.
Yes sir! Just got done with it i figured id do a test run on one enclosure before i really do them! Im starting to get the hang of powder coating and im starting to know what to look for when doing so. Next time around im going to pay more attention to the edges and corners but other than that i think it came out great!

I think you might have answered this somewhere else... but are you using one of the Eastwood rigs? Toaster oven for baking or curing or whatever it's called?

I do have an Eastwood dual voltage setup but i have it modified with a hopper system to make the fluidization of the powder better and have a constant even stream of powder come out. Im definitely upgrading to a Redline EZ50 soon. As for the oven, im using a 1600 watt powder coating oven from JEGS.

Heres the link to the oven:POWDER COAT OVEN

@steviejr92 until seeing that black red metallic flake I was certified the world's biggest hater on metallic flake finishes. That's sharp as fuck
Dude thank you so much! I kind of went out on a limb with the color and it kind of paid off. I know what you mean with metallic flake on enclosures sometimes its just to much. But the flake in this powder doesn't overpower the color underneath!

This Fuzzrite wasn't working properly, the second stage had a volume drop. I tried reflowing all the solder joints but nope. So I had to take it apart, trashed the board and all the components and tested the transistors and they work. Who knows what I did wrong but I'm 2 for 4 with Fuzzrites.

I'll have to rebuild it from scratch now...

Following in @steviejr92 ’s footsteps, I’m in the early stages of working up a design for a 125b sized wedge enclosure. A little Cardboard Aided Design and a mock-up in steel so far. I need to tweak the dimensions a bit, but that’s roughly the shape I’m going for.

Now thats an enclosure! Love the angles in the back there. Similar to the Moog enclosures! Cant wait to see how this comes out!

@steviejr92 - It’s .024 hot rolled steel. Not anything you’d want to make an enclosure out of. I’ll be using the same aluminum you’re using for the final version, I just have a literal ton of that steel on hand, so I’m using that for test pieces before I start wasting $$ on aluminum.

I have a friend who works construction, and he was on a job at a hospital where he was in charge of demolishing part of a building that housed an MRI machine. Apparently shielding the rest of the hospital from the magnetic forces requires a thick steel barrier, and instead of using plate steel, they did it with many many layers of sheet metal. It was all headed for a dumpster, but a couple truckloads got diverted to my house.

@Erik S dude that looks like a Sith Starship…..I’m loving everything about this! How’d you get those rolled sides? I know there are flanger tools but I know that can’t be it lol
