I don't know, looks like you could give someone an earful... but, say if it's Scotch, you wouldn't actually get much — less than a dram, even.
Have you tried wiggling them, Nick? Not many people can do that, not to cast a shadow over this eardeavour and stirrup treble. Had to hammer that one home, but making an anvil o' myself — up the canal without a pedal. Well I've made a cochlear implant of this post, I'll lobe one more over before I show myself the door.

Ooh mama my Tone Bender MK I works!
That means I didn't burn the transistors despite blasting them with 400 degrees of Celsius power courtesy of my Pinecil in boost mode.
I did burn the insulation on that yellow wire though.
Also LOL at that single metal film resistor.
Now I need an enclosure...

Not the best weekend. Yesterday I was supposed to play bass with a friend. I spent all day learning 20 songs, I made charts, practiced. I show up and the guy is totally hammered. One train wreck of a song in and the owner of the bar shuts us down.
never playing with the guy again since this is just the last of many such incidents. Hopefully we can remain friends.
EDIT: it works. Stupid Q1 was touching somewhere. It seems quieter than before, need to max it out to be barely above unity. Build report soon.
Anyway... I built the TB MK I today and it doesn't work!
Bypass works, all connections and voltages check out. Maybe I'm missing something obvious or maybe something happened to the transistors. I wonder how since all I did was the offboard wiring today.
Gonna take a break and come back later. I think I'm gonna have to finally build an audio probe.

New Shockman well on its way. PCB mostly done, took me 3 or 4 solid days of work. Only 34x54mm, sort of like a giant IC (42 pins). Fits in a 1590B box, even sideways. 192 compponents at last count.
100% analog buffer, compressor, distortion, cab sim, chorus, stereo mixer and headphone amp.
Digital delay (PT2399). All FX ins and outs accessible independently (i.e. you can plug straight into the chorus or delay section if you want). There's a battery monitor, too.
11mA total idle current draw from a single 9V supply.
Buffered bypass, very quiet (OPA207). The buffer can be powered on its own (draws just 0.4mA), while everyting else is off.
I'll go for beers now.

Decided it was time to finally do some rehab on my mid-80s Heritage guitar:
Lost the Schaller roller bridge and fine tuner tailpiece and went for blackout mode while I was at it. And naturally a new issue surfaced once the old ones were resolved, but it was a quick fix and this thing plays very well indeed now.
