What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Hi @DGWVI
Those stamps look great. I’m just about to order some and noticed you have something similar in your box.

Is this what you use? How do you find them. I have also been pointed towards using stazon ink. With no need for a clear coat.

Any advice welcome!

Is it possible to remove the StazOn ink from the enclosure without leaving stains?
I use a stamp with StazOn ink for my disc golf discs, and it doesn’t want to come off all the way. Could be the plastic that absorbs some of it also.

I have set of laser engraved stamps with small letters (letter height - 2.5mm, 0.34mm line thicnkess). Because of this stamping is quite a challenge. It's easy to apply too much pressure and compress the rubber which results in smeared or outlined text.

I've removed StazOn from gloss powdercoat with alcohol but I'd imagine success depends on the texture and color.

It's much easier to wipe away before it has fully dried, and I bet it'd be a challenge on something like a sand texture.

Yeah, I use those at times. This particular batch was done with a custom set of stamps I had made up a while back.

Staz-On Opaque is what I typically use. It's fairly durable.

Yep! Isopropyl alcohol works well. I dab it on and soak for a few seconds, wipe clean, and then do it again if needed

This is something I struggle with

It is a bit more work to get it off the sand texture, but just gotta saturate it with some alcohol for a couple seconds. I use a cotton swap to apply and work the alcohol in, and a paper towel to wipe it down. Repeat of necessary

I finally made my own Mondrian clone from some colorful Dollarama electrical tape. I got inspired by this article:

I'm still not sure if mine is hanging right side up, what do you think?View attachment 42681
That’s pretty cool!

It’s easy for people to make jokes about the whole upside-down Mondrian situation, but it really does look so much better in the indented orientation than the upside down arrangement.

Do you have any other (Non custom) stamps you would recomend or are those stackable ones good enough??

The ContactUSA Pegz are pretty awesome, especially if you keep them clean. My only complaint would be the gaps between the letters when stacking em- I wish they were closer together.
The plastic of the shafts is also kinda brittle, and doesn't hold up well to cleaners stronger than IPA, so keep that in mind.
But, for off the shelf stamps, they are my favorites. Super easy to use, and they have a decent selection of fonts and sizes

The custom stamps I use are From here. It's $125 (I think- it's been a while) for a full 8x11 sheet that you can fill up however you'd like with a variety of font choices and sizes. You have to cut and mount them yourself, but the quality is great and I'm planning on snagging at least one more set soon
