Oh yeah, I'm a big believer in fresh eyes, and my win-loss record over the years is actually reasonably decent. I haven't had occasion to use board mounted pots all that often and could probably use to alter my workflow a bit, but no worries.
I finished up the Deucetone (Dual Rat) build last night and discover an amazing point. When I did the artwork. I did NOT have the bypass LEDs in mind when I laid it out. Only by a great streak of luck did the bypass LED mounts line up with the pupils of the Rat's eyes in the graphic. Bonus!
Man this thing gets gnarly when running both Rats in series. Gotta pay attention to the Volume settings tho. Gain staging has an impact here.

Not a sticker. I assembled the graphics in Photoshop and sent the layout and the drilling template to AmplifyFun where they did the machining and UV paint.

You can submit raster files to Tayda, too. I think they discourage it since it's very easy to get terrible results if files aren't properly prepared for printing.

I'm not much of a start to finish builder these days. There's always some WIP stuff laying around, but those 4 I just started and I'll finish them as time allows at the expense of other things I should be doing instead...
In light of all MichaelW's (ongoing) Tele builds, I got my Tightwad-Tele project out of mothballs a couple of days ago.
The purple top was blotchy from the factory (and looks too pink on-screen), and so I was never happy with it.
Originally, I planned to eventually re-stain the purple, even it out make it more rich and pronounced. Build first, fix stain later.
The best laid plans though...
First step, remove the beautifully done THICK clear-coat (why-oh-why such a pissstain of colour yet such an awesome clear?...}:-(
Well, that's a good start for a few minutes work at detailer-friend's shop. Standing back, admiring the itty-bitty progress Wednesday night...
Shoe on the right: "Well, that's all I have time for today, wife is waiting and it's nearly 8pm"
Shoe on the Left: "Man, that clear-coat is thick!"
Shoe on the Right: "Yeah, it'll take some time to get through to the stain. It'd be cool if it was all orange, a Gretsch Western Sunset orange top to tie in with the opaque-orange back and sides. Pity that poor stain's probably too deep to do that, hope we can even out the purple."
Shoe on the Left: "Well let's wait and see, once we've got the clear-coat off, the top's quite thick, I bet we can change it to orange."
Shoe on the Right: (thinking no-way-in-hell) "Maybe... I'll give you a lift home, we can tackle it some more on Friday, maybe. Let's go."
Yesterday, Shoe on the Left sent Shoe on the Right the following pic!
