What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Just got wind that the Creamery pups in friend's Tele that were installed by shop who were supposed to give it 50s wiring and didn't so I did the 50s wiring—
neck pup bleeds through when only bridge is selected. 🤔

Last time on same friend's Ibby, he thought the polarity was wrong after I installed pickups, but the polarity was indeed correct.

So I'm wondering how I screwed up the 50s wiring on the Tele and why it wasn't noticed right away; which got me thinking back to the Ibanez, wondering if the Tele's got a problem at all.

More powder coating! This time with a little adventure to spice things up!!

The colors are disco lemon drop and disco cherry, or something like that.

While I was spraying the lemon drop I accidentally got a little close to the enclosure with the powder coat gun and got a decent spark. It didn’t fry the powder coat so I kept powdering. I shook up the gun a little and it started dumping a bit more powder as I was spraying. All of a sudden the gun arcs again, but I wasn’t near the enclosure. The cloud of dust
ignites and I realize I am holding a flame thrower😂😂😂.
I’m a fire bug, though, so I kinda just sat there and watched it a few seconds, transfixed at my new fire-toy. Then reality came and told me I should extinguish the blaze before I burned down the garage. Lol
Kinda disappointed in the disco lemon drop, other than the glorious flame thrower action.

The lemon drop is on the left.

Dude every single one of these rock!!!

I’m really really liking the disco lemon drop!

Made a treble boost based on the Dan Armstrong Red Ranger for a friend of mine. He’s testing it out and I’ll probably end up swapping out the caps or doing what Robert did here with the 8-way knob for more options. And now my soldering iron is totally busted and won’t heat up at all. It was a good run.

Second take on the mag/piezo pickup blender for my dobro/banjo hybrid:

IMG_0611.png

Format: TRS input jack, mag side goes to a send jack for one of my resonant LPF based preamp/EQ boxes, or straight to an amp. Return jack goes to blend input. Piezo side goes directly to its own resonant LPF, then on to the blender. The piezo pickup is mounted on the resonator, so the blend controls allow for a lot of useful tweaking, kind of similar in some ways to a chorus wet/dry blender with separate EQ on each side. Once it’s all dialed in I will probably do the whole shebang in one 1590XX enclosure, which should have room for a full parametric midrange band rather than the simple switched frequency midrange control in my typical pedal builds.
