What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Thank you dude! It means a lot and lets me know im going the right direction! 🤘

In some parallel universe where he's not committed to SCHMORG boxes, there's a me who's ordered a lot of Chicken Wing enclosures.. :ROFLMAO:

*& not to nit-pick, but I think that if you could source some of those pan-head hex-bolts that match the color of your rivets, that'd be like, all of the planets and Pluto aligned type-of-good.

SCHMORG FOREVER 🤘

Are you talking about these?

Thats an awesome idea. I might pick up a few just to try out!

She’s pretty much done! Got it all wired up, now to intonate and set up, honestly I’m not going to have to do much I was shocked at how well it felt after stringing up. And now my CNC is being used for a special gift for a friend for Christmas

I'm a fan of your work! Raw finishes are some of my favorite. Makes me want to stop spending my spare cash building pedals for a bit so I can get a CNC going. I probably have the parts to build 4-6 guitars in my toolbox.

Nice!
I'm a huge sucker for matching hardware.
shopping

You might also consider the other direction!
A run of blacked-out Chicken Wings for HM-2's or whatever. ☠️⛓️🪚☠️

Dang I think that might look better 😎

I had an idea in the past to anodize them since the ones i use are aluminum....

Cool!
Personally I never really jived with black hardware (nor gold) but I know a lot of people who are the opposite and seek out the black stuff.
Realistically, you'll probably be sold-out immediately just like last time whether they match or not!
:)

I appreciate the words man!

I’m one of those people in which I like a lot of the black hardware. There’s something industrial about the color and look. Especially when they’re brand new and they still have a sheen to them 😁

Thanks! So I’ve been building pedals for about 7 years? And I thought to myself, what if I just tried guitars? Maybe by year 3 or so I’ll be as good as I am with pedals! Well here I am 2 years in or so and I love it, just started selling at my local guitar store to fund the hobby so it keeps going, highly recommend the journey, it’s been a blast. I have the Longmill 30x30 and I have no regrets with that machine, the quality you get with the price is amazing

The Decimator is all you’ll need for noise reduction, it’s fantastic.
It occurs to me after playing with the Decimator and STFU circuits some more, the Decimator is NOT a true-bypass build. The bypass stomp simply grounds the wiper of the 'Threshold' pot, making it an 'always-on buffered' circuit. Even tho it's an excellent and genuinely transparent buffer, it's important to know that about the Decimator.

I build some guitars in my early 20's that came out OK but those were all laid out and build by hand. I have been 3d modeling since about 2010 now and want to combine that with guitar building. I'm thinking I might want to design and build a CNC with linear rails, ball screws and a spindle motor. For me a big part of the enjoyment of hobbies is the learning and growth. So spending 6 months researching and building a CNC wouldn't be outside my comfort zone.

That's awesome that you are starting to sell them. I wish you the best of luck. What program do you design your guitars? I use Blender for fun and Autocad(Civil 3d) for work.

Unrelated to guitar building and a bit of a messy picture but this is a lathe I restored a few years ago.

So I use Fusion 360, and Easel. And that’s awesome! I also wanted to build my own CNC and ultimately why I went with Longmill, linear rails and ball screws, minus the spindle. But I have a huge CNC at my work to do bigger jobs or metal if needed. The journey is definitely what it’s about, I live learning and DIY

Do you guys remember back in the 90s when videogames had a “boss mode” key that you could press and would pause the game and show a fake spreadsheet or something? Those were simpler times…
Yeah, I remember. For games that didn't have a 'boss mode' key, I created my own custom-short-cut key combos in Windows.

In the mid 80's to the mid 90's I was repairing coin-operated video games of all sorts. Sometimes I'd change game parameters that made it impossible for the player to win. Sometimes I'd alter a game so the player always one. In the office, I'd prank PC users with the opposite of a 'boss mode' and have a game randomly pop-up on their screen for 30 seconds that would interrupt whatever they were doing. Turns out, electronics engineers have less of a sense of humor than accountants. (At least, in that office.)
