What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Wow!! Those are crazy nice!
Thank you! They're going to be a gift for my brother....hes into older style electronics to i tried to replicate some walkie talkies!

I used the 1980s REALISITC TRC model walkie talkies as inspiration. There's some inspiration from the original pedal the enclosures are based on, which is the Reeves Electro BHSD.

I love those boards, but they do make me feel a little anxious
They make me feel anxious. Just the logistics of getting all the parts together (many are not commonly stocked by JLCPCB) and crossing fingers that they'll assemble them right, with all the manual loading of the pick-n-place machines... There's $1k of parts in that pic, and I don't know for sure if they got them all right yet... 😬

My friend gave me this short scale Univox a while ago. I had started refurbishing it and realized in my research it's actually somewhat of a collectible. So I slowed down and put that on the back burner. Cut to a couple years later now and I'm ready to address these neck pocket cracks. A little anxiety enduring and I was able to drill out the crack enough to get a syringe of lightly water down titebond in there and work the crack so it penetrated ALL the way in. The squeeze out was a thing of beauty! I'm very impressed with how well this worked and I'm excited for the results.
My buddy is rewinding one of the pups for me. I had tried with a homemade jig and a drill but that's outta my pay grade. I had to make a new bobbin design in Onshape and send him the STL but that should be the missing piece for this to be back in rockin action. I'm really excited about putting flats on this shorty!

I assembled this one a few months ago but I could never get it to bias correctly. Still sitting in a heap on my desk till I feel like fucking with it
I built this according to the doc (which as far as I know is unique among the Percolator specs), and just auditioned transistor pairs until I got it sounding how I want a Percolator to sound 😅

There were a couple other sets that sounded good (bc109c/ bc177a, and 2n2903/2n5087) but this sets got a smooth clangy splat and does the feedback thing

I used 2N3904/PN2222 as per the doc. maybe i'll dig back into it

Scratch this. I'd forgotten my tuner was buffered. Without that buffer in front, it's a muffled poo.

Gonna tinker a bit, and see what's up. The last couple HP I built was much brighter and fuzzier than this without the buffer, so the board might have an error or two

First all steel project off the cnc. I went a little thicker on the steel than what is normally used. I was having problems with it being flimsy when I was using 20ga. From what I’ve been told though that’s a normal thing with the real ones.

This is cool. I think big muffs are stupid but I definitely bought one at one point just cuz of the giant enclosure
