What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Busy busy weekend in the frozen Colorado No photos yet but finished a Drebble Bass, crybaby I modded to be true bypass and some tonal changes, boss SD-1 with the 5 star GE mod, ds-1 with the jhs synth mod, glory hole, nearly finished are an adhd minus 1 IC and a low tide just missing one pot.

Or get an 8-32 screw!
Also a viable option…until my OCD kicks in (and I’m not talking about the pedal!)
Now if I was selling it, I’d most certainly do that…and make it flat or Robertson drive just because I can…in fact I’d make sure none of the 4 matched!

I built this exact combo last year, let me know how you like it. The reverb was too washed out sounding for my liking.

I'm not big on either of these types of effects to begin with, so my opinion isn't worth much 😅

But, they both sound pretty good. The modulation on the delay is pretty cool, but the "fuzz" is meh. I've got another Dromtydning board that I might try with an HT8970 to lean more into the chorus / vibrato thing and mess with the function generator some
The reverb is really washed out, it'd probably be great for shoegazey or ambient stuff. For reverbs, I generally only like subtle springs, and this is definitely not that 🤣

I'm back in the process of (yet) another pedalboard re-build...

A little less than a year ago my board just started giving me a lot of hassles. Inconsistent, sounding funky, just little odd gremlins. I checked and double-checked every pedal and cable and could never figure out a cause or anything that seemed out of sorts. And it was getting big enough that it was rather unwieldy and awfully heavy. I had a big show last summer that I was hyped for. Got everything all checked over, dialed in, practiced up and good to go. Got to playing and sounded terrible with all sorts of bugs and little issues sporadically cropping up again.

I ended up getting so frustrated with it that I just listed everything (except for my trusty General Tso's compressor :P ) for sale online and sold everything off and bought a Fractal FM3 and pocketed the leftover cash for a rainy day. It meets all my needs and is only one point of failure, so to speak. Little-to-no hardware troubleshooting involved.

It sounds pretty great too. But to borrow from Marie Kondo...it just doesn't "spark joy" in the same way. I miss my individual pedals too much. With an all-in-one rig, I didn't really have any need to build or try out any new pedals either, so I haven't built anything in some time, and really quite missed that too. So...now we're back in the process of buying up some individual pedals again and getting rid of Fractal :P

The fuzz is meh but bypassing it drastically reduces the gain of the delay. I would love to see what the circuit would do as a chorus/ vibrato!

You set the bar high... :)
Thanks man! I have to admit is kinda cool watching this go full circle. When I started building pedals 17-18 years ago I was into some japanese pedal builders blogs and my mind was always blown by watching those incredible builds with neat wiring, finishing, good components and feels really nice to be able to do so nowadays and to try to give back to the DIY community some of the things I learned thru the years

I go through the same thing. Currently considering rebuying a hx stomp

I've had a couple before and TBH really have thought about keeping one around as a utility type thing. I don't love it as a "primary" guitar rig but think it's super on bass, or just as like a catch-all or backup option...
