What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Not so much a workbench, but scratch and dent sales plus early 80s speakers from an old friend. Hooked up the stepson with a receiver, turntable, and once the TOS link cable arrives, will slap in an older Blu-ray player.

The boy prefers physical media over digital, and somehow managed to pick up several crates of LPs and has both his mom’s and my Dad’s CD collection.

Owning your eff-ups:

Patentably boneheaded. Right here. Yup.

For the price of a good soldering station you can get one that is both the soldering wand and a 1950's electrothanasia ray gun.

Err. Sorry . Desoldering station.

Zaps a bad decision like nothing you've ever seen unless'n you've seen it.

( When it disintegrates, brother does it disintegrate )

Might be the best $130 I've spent on electronics work.

Most passives come away so clean they drop right in another project. Sockets come out clean. Pin headers can be salvaged.

The debris field is from the last 24 hours as I managed to destroy and replicate days of work in one day. I do not recommend the activity.

Okay. Seeing your workstation makes me feel better about my disorganized cluster of a work area.

I’ve got one from the same brand (gun only not the iron combo deal). I got it to replace a bunch of ICs on an old synthesizer, and it was worth every penny. What a joy those things are to use.

Actually haven’t used it on pedals that much. For clearing a hole I filled by mistake, or swapping one resistor, I still usually just reach for the braid.
