What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

My custom Sunn Model T chassis in route so I figured I better push hard on the two preamps I have in progress.

This one is Diezel VH4 channels 2 & 3/4 (4 is basically just 3 with another gain stage). Working through the last bits of chassis layout and drilling. I do all the major design on the computer, but I am doing the final small stuff like board standoff holes by hand, at the end, in case I need to nudge things.

Wow! Are you using the schematic going aeound online? Do you have another reference?

Hmmm... been thinking of doing something like that (channel 1 and 3 basically or even a Herbert). The amount of revisions the VH4 has had and the weirdness of the schematics found online make it really difficult to plan though.

Also not sure I need another project in the queue but I guess saying this on this forum is nothing special :ROFLMAO:

recapping my blackheart little giant ... youngest amp I've ever had to recap but I went to test it out ahead of sale and it had the crackle

Queue is life :) I like a full queue, I have three amps, and three more tube preamps after this one (my pedal queue is out of control).

The VH4 schematics I've found are all pretty close to one another, and I'm not too worried if I have to rework a bit, turrets are robust. Evolve DIY has a board for it too btw.

It would be amazing if you could post the final results once is done!

Will do!

I've been on vacation for a few weeks and felt bad with how little I've made (I've been riding my bike and working on some recording). I wanted to finish a guitar but my garage is really hot and full of flies. So I decided to build some pedals after an ~10 month hiatus. I did that, but my knobs felt off, so I redesigned them (the inside tapers gently now so they press onto the pot very nicely and stay put). Then I got irritated with my testing setup so I printed some brackets and built an angled desktop pedalboard. I need to get some velcro on it and wire it up. Pedals need painting.

If I recall correctly the pedals are a Calibre (sounds like a distortion), Chalameau (with the gain switch that I shouldn't have bothered wiring in), Aphrodite (also sounds like a distortion), Equilux Mini (doesn't sound like a distortion), and Chrome Dome (weeeeeird circuit).

Got the Nordenbocker neck pickup in the mail today and swapped it in. I've never had the courage to do a pickup swap before, but I did it! My '08 4003 is my most prized possession and a beyond generous 21st birthday gift from my family many, many years ago...and now, I just can't put it down! I'm sure pickup adjustment tweaks will be necessary, and I'm 100% shielding the cavity + pickguard in the future, but I'm happy as a clam right now ☺️
