One of my all time favorite clean tones is the “watery” sound in the second guitar solo of Feels So Good by Chuck Mangione. It sounds like some sort of filter, but I can’t tell if it’s a phaser, flanger, vibe, or if he’s somehow doing it with a wah pedal. The rhythm guitar seems to use a wah pedal pervasively. But I’m really curious about that lead sound. Anyone know how to cop it? Any PPCB recommendations to get close?
In the studio recording the solo starts around 5:20. He does something similar live here around 1:27 -
