CONTEST What? Another Contest?

CONTEST
Making a 3D model of the board with the components I need populated so I know how much room I have to work with.

Oh yeah, it's coming together.

"Do not fabricate" my ass! You know I'm gonna breadboard this. Hmmm... 4 transistors and no diodes. Very interesting...

I've already breadboarded BtR's BASS FUXX. AIR NUTZ is up next.

Well it's obviously not ready to go as-is, I'm not ready to give away my surprise yet. I'll post my schematic when I get my board in and have a chance to test the circuit.

Trying to think outside the box but still make it fit in a box :P

OH ANOTHER STUPID QUESTION!

You said it has to fit in an enclosure, does that enclosure have to be a 125B? I had an idea that would need a 1590BB :P

I’m a little proud of this one since this is my first circuit ever breadboarded that uses jfets. I had a hell of a time figuring out how they work about 6 months ago up until late this morning. This circuit uses 2 2n5457s in series to produce a clipping all its own. Of course you’ll have to dial in the bias for each with trimmers and they’re included in the schematic. I then added the MID HUMP pedalpcb tone control followed by the Martian version of the Muffin Fuzz’s recovery stage.

It’s a pretty good overdrive circuit that I shall call the MUFF NUGGET. @Chuck D. Bones let me know if this schematic is sufficient as a submission or if I need to go back and “tag” all the components based on the PCB build doc.

Looks interesting! If it's not too much trouble, please add ref des that correspond to the Muffin board. You're not a fan of Gain controls, are you?

I see a problem with the 2nd stage. Who can figure out what it is?

I must be really dumb. All of his stupid questions sound like good ones to me ;)
I agree... with the 2nd sentence.

Back when I was enslaved working full-time, sometimes a person would share an idea that made no sense to me. I'd lean over to the person next to me and ask "that guy is either a lot smarter than me or a lot dumber than me, can you do me a favor and figure out which?"

Two more questions for BtR:
  1. What's the value of that mystery resistor connected to the high-side of the TONE pot?
  2. It's customary to put a capacitor between pin 2 of the TONE pot and the next transistor's bias network. Since your circuit doesn't have one, what happens to that transistor's bias when you turn the TONE pot?

BtR has got me all worked up now. I had to have a dose of fetzer. (y)
A 2N5952 with a Vgs-off of -2.2V and Idss of 5.71mA.
The source is at 1.1VDC and the drain @ 4.5VDC.
