We had some guests over for lunch and I made a lasagna, eggplant parmigiana and sourdough to eat with cheese and a gojujang strawberry jam that I also made. My wife made lemon traveler cake from the NYT. All good hits. I didn’t take pics of the two baked dishes after baking.

I'm perturbed by this ad for Popeye's. Everything's laid out like a crayfish boil and there are three disgusting things I noticed,
1. Someone's clearly double dipping his strip in a communal sauce.
2. Someone clearly took a bite of a biscuit and leaned it up against the chicken strip box.
3. There's a mostly eaten chicken strip next to the biscuit with a bite out of it.

Mac-n-cheeae & sliders again, with hopefully less separation…
Also subbed in some Muenster—about 1/4 of the total cheese mass—which made my bechamel more like a fondue, so here's hoping it passes muster for mothers day.
I usually stick to Alton's recipes, but hooly onyons, Batman. 1/2 C grated is too much, even with Maui sweets or Vidalias. Tweaked it to where the family likes it.

Okay, so which of you culinary experts can tell me where the term "sliders" came from?
I can remember when there was no such thing as a slider, then suddenly, very suddenly the proverbial "overnight", the term and the associated little hamburgers were EVERYWHERE...
I'll be honest, Jessenator, your pics had my mouth watering because I LOVE little hamburgers, but I HATE the term "sliders".

Not an expert, and don't know for sure, but I want to say Krystal or White Castle in the US since they kind of popularized the size/concept(?) of the smol gut grenade.

Thank you Jessenator, that answers the where. Maybe the White Castle or Krystal websites answer the "why".Maybe it's because they slide down the gullet so well...?
