What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

If the big MAGNETAR text was just white layer, I’d be inclined to believe it’s a print issue— looks like the white ink could have been separating or something. I personally think it looks really cool that way, but that definitely doesn’t look like normal white UV printing. If it bothers you it’s definitely worth reaching out to Hugo about

this is exactly what I assumed you did (and how I have printed grays from them before), I'd hit them up about it
Yep, just a white layer. It is for a friend so I'll leave the call up to them if they feel like it needs redone. It honestly looks fine from a few feet so if it was a personal build I wouldn't bother. Thanks for the info guys!

Back in business. Ordered 14th Oct, received 9th Nov; less than 4 weeks, which is pretty damn fast for these times.

My @fig windfall paid for:
Headphone Amplifier
Kliché Mini
Daydream Delay with pre-soldered FV1
(and postage to Australia)

And then I remembered I wanted some TL072s so I bought ten of them with my own monies and got them added to the order.

The Kliché Mini will become the @Chuck D. Bones bass variation. Sadly I wasn't in time for the custom PCB version, but at least this one will fit the standard Tayda pre-drilled enclosure.

I'm still waiting for the 2nd @fig package with all the bits for the Electric Landlady (as I like to call it) which I believe is on the way, somewhere in the great Pacific zone of waiting for stuff from the US to get here.

I was putting off doing a Tayda order till the PCBs arrived, so now I have the fun (?) of going through my parts collections and working out what else I need to buy. I have to prepare for a couple of gigs in the next week as well as various other activities, so it might be a while yet before I'm tackling these boards.

But thanks to the legendary @fig largesse I am making pedals again. THANKS.

EDIT: Got a PedalPCB sticker, too.

Tubes and Toffee!

Special thanks to @Chuck D. Bones for the Tone Feast, including both tubes and the projects to go with them.

I don't know if the toffee is home-made or what, but ... it's alright. Never had pink toffee before, is it supposed to be that dry?
I didn't know that @Chuck D. Bones spoke and wrote Chinese. What does his note say? (Only Eat These Toffee's with a Glass of Milk)?

@fig are those davies 1700 knobs with indicator dots?? didn't realize those existed
They are made by Daka-Ware Chicago.

Another awesome @StompBoxParts box come today. Enclosures and a ton of caps. Also got some 3m tape. But I have to give huge kudos. The Peacock ore paint job is totally epic. My photo does this no justice at all the deep vibrant blues that are hidden in this thing are beautiful. Going to look great with the Equillux build.

Nice. I have had my eye on that enclosure too. Glad it looks great. I have the blue, red and green colors and they are fabulous.

I put my aion TS-50 in a peacock ore box. It's a gorgeous finish, no regrets on the extra expense there.

Oooowweeee did you say Equillux I can’t wait to build mine as well 😎 that’s going to be an awesome looking pedal when you’re done with it!

Surf green tele body from MJT. I stole this on ebay, nobody else bid on it! Suckers!

Gonna put a filterton in the neck. Anyone have any recs other than TV Jones? I was leaning towards the Supertron mostly on looks. I think the classic is probably what I want sonically

Depends on what sound you're after. If what you want is the classic filtertron sound then TV Jones is the best you can get.
Although, and this may sound a little unintuitive. you can get an actual Gretsch Filtertron for around $80 off Amazon.
(Not their Broad-tron, Blacktop or other bastardizations but a real Gretsch Filtertron, they're right up there with the TV Jones Classic in my opinion.

Here's the Gold one.

And the Chrome one too....

I'll stick with TV Jones. This is my "bare no expense" guitar, hopefully the last guitar I own in my life
You gonna put a Bigsby on it? I've got a Dual Filtertron Tele idea knocking around in my head that hasn't quite completely formulated yet.
But I want an unfinished blank. Next guitar I build I want to do my own nitro finish on.

Nah it's not for me. I will say, the finish on this thing is incredible, nothing like my other guitars. I guess that's what nitro is?

MJT's are really nicely done nitro finishes. I don't too much care for the relic'd ones but they also do non-relic'd and "light relic".

"Light Relic" or "Closet Classic" is my preference on a nitro guitar.

Keeping in mind that JUST because it's nitro doesn't mean it's done well. There are many very crappy nitro finished bodies out there. (Allen Eden for example)
