I'm lucky I've never seen that apology for them mangling a package. I'm a bit surprised they do that and admit fault in any way haha.

I got my LMS order from the giveaway code from the ever generous @fig . I was waiting to see the new monthly powder coat color but it turned out to be Ford blue and didn’t seem special enough to warrant getting one. I ended up getting some stuff I needed like some pots and foot switches (these red ones feel like the tayda ones I like so much, maybe the same brand) and stuff I only get there like the dress nuts for foot switches and the Prebond ribbon cable. Also picked up a power supply daisy chain cable thingy on clearance to redo my pedal board, now if I could only decide what to put on it!

Yeah it was pretty shocking seeing that I guess that’s why my package was delayed 🤷‍♂️

I got my LMS order in too today. some cosmonaut knobs for my black eye build; some brutalist knobs for another thing, some replacement toggle switches for a project I accidentally harvested parts from, and a pair of low profile 3PDTs for some 1590G builds, though one of them arrived with two bad poles so I’ll have to wait on that (not that I had time to do anything with it this week anyway)

Good catch! It's really worth testing those before use. I had an idea about building a quick test rig, that has bi-color LEDs to indicate continuity, when you press the switch to it (simple contact pads). Depress the switch and check again.

My wonderful wife got me this super radical shop apron from Savage Industries.

I've been a Mythbusters fan since it first aired (it's one of my "fall asleep on the couch" shows now) and love Adam Savage's Tested YT channel.

This apron is silly over the top for my needs but my wife is super cool like that. The previous apron I had was a piece of junk and disintegrated a while back. Since then I stained multiple shirts with my lathe spinning oil off but never got around to getting a new apron.

At least now I'll likely never need another apron ever again!

That's awesome! I love Adam's Tested channel, and i've been wanting to make an apron like from his diy apron video for ages. That's an awesome and beautiful piece of kit there!

I've learned a ton from him and I really love his "let's just figure this out as we go along" mentality as that's how I tend to operate. I also love how willing he is to make mistakes and show them to us. I could watch his One Day Builds all day long.

After watching some of the things I've seen him do, though, I'm absolutely amazed that dude still has all of his fingers after all these years!

I wish I could say I was smart enough to check all the time— I just noticed two of the contacts were crooked but not bent— seems like they got set into the epoxy at an angle in the factory so the common doesn’t make contact with them when the switch is throw is engaged that way. Figured I’d check it since they looked bent, and sure enough it was a bunk switch.
